Warning! Full-coverage seat covers could be a "hidden killer" for airbags.

Many car owners habitually install seat covers as soon as they get a new car, but recent accident investigations show that improper seat covers may hide deadly risks. Industry experts point out that full-coverage seat covers can easily block the deployment of side airbags, potentially causing airbag failure or secondary injuries during a collision.  Seat covers made of materials such as ice silk and leather can also reduce the friction coefficient of the seats, making it easier for occupants to slip out of their seatbelts during sudden braking. Furthermore, inferior seat covers release formaldehyde and other VOCs, causing air pollution inside the car.  This, coupled with some products blocking seat heating/ventilation functions, creates multiple hazards. Experts advise avoiding full-coverage seat covers and prioritizing semi-coverage products that have airbag openings and are OEKO-TEX® certified. For high-end new energy vehicles, it is recommended to forgo installing seat covers altogether.
